In 2023, I co-founded the Interscholastic Ethics Society to bring greater awareness to ethical and public-policy questions affecting the world around us. What started as an ethics society eventually became something much larger.

By the time IES had grown across schools and chapters, I had started thinking differently about what it meant to have actually built an institution.

If IES permanently depended on its founder being President, then I hadn't really built something that could outlast me.

So I stepped away from day-to-day executive leadership and helped transition authority to the next generation of student leaders. I remained part of Founding Leadership and kept advising, but intentionally stopped being the person responsible for running everything.

IES Global Foundation

vice chair

director of operations

Stepping away from the presidency didn't mean stepping away from what I had built. My work movedoutward.

I'm now helping build IES Global Foundation, the broader structure behind IES's long-term development and international growth. Most of my work is on the things behind the organization:operations, governance, partnerships, international development, and continuity between generations of student leaders.

The objective is different from running IES. It's building the infrastructure that lets IES keep running without depending on any one student.
